EDINBURG, Texas – McAllen Border Patrol agents arrest two sex offenders with extensive criminal history.
On Wednesday morning, McAllen agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested a Mexican national whose record checks revealed a prior arrest in McAllen, Texas.
The McAllen Police Department arrested the man, Santiago Alvarez Gonzalez, for a “Sex offense –Against child- Fondling.” Additionally, records checks revealed Alvarez has significant criminal history to include marijuana and cocaine possession.
Later that day, Border Patrol agents from the McAllen Station arrested a Mexican national in Penitas, Texas. During processing, the man’s record checks revealed significant criminal history in California to include sexual battery (misdemeanor), burglary and narcotics possession with intent to distribute.
A judge sentenced the man to 68 days in jail for a felony burglary charge in conjunction with the sexual battery.
Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
