Two Small Aircraft Collide During Landing At SM Regional Airport

Authorities responded last night to the San Marcos Regional Airport last night after two planes collided while attempting to land.

The collision, which occurred around 7:18 PM, involved two single-engine planes, a Team Rockets F1 Experimental aircraft and a Cessna 172.

Three people were involved in the accident; officials reported two were taken to the hospital with injuries, and one was unharmed.

Due to the accident, Airport Drive has been closed to all vehicular traffic pending clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration.

In the meantime, a NOTAM has been issued to close Runway 8 and barricades have been placed along the above route to guide traffic.

No names of those involved were released. This article will be updated when more information is available.
