Two Texas State Athletes To Compete At USATF Outdoor Championships

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State athletes Chelsie Decoud and Tramesha Hardy head to Sacramento, California this weekend to compete in the USATF Outdoor Championships.

The championships will take place Thursday through Sunday at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.

First to compete will be Decoud in the women’s high jump on Friday at 7:40 p.m. CDT. The two-time First Team All-American is coming off a sixth place finish at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships earlier this month.

Heading to The Golden State, Decoud has finished in the top seven at every meet during the 2017 indoor and outdoor seasons.

The junior finished first eight times with two of the titles coming at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

At the Bobcat Invitational at the beginning of April, she cleared not only a personal best but also a conference and school record height of 1.85m (6-0.75).

Saturday will see Hardy hit the track for the first round of the women’s 200-meter dash at 2:15 p.m. CDT. The reigning SBC Most Outstanding Women Track Athlete of the Year would advance to Sunday’s finals at 2:20 p.m. with a quick enough time and finish in her heat.

Hardy holds the school record in the 200m at 22.92 that she set at this year’s NCAA West Preliminary meet up in Austin. The sophomore helped lead the Bobcats’ women to both the SBC indoor and outdoor titles with six gold medals.

Her 32.5 points were the most scored by an individual at the conference indoor championships as she walked out of the arena with four golds.
