Update 12:33 p.m.: Two Vehicle Collision Kills One In Buda

Update: One of the victims from the second vehicle is being released from the hospital today. The second awaits surgery. 

Deceased victim in the Buda two-car collision accident confirmed to be 16-year-old Hays High School sophomore, Brynn Aylor. A formal letter has been sent to parents from the school districts, shortly.

Also, the school district will have counselors to students available Thursday. The two female passengers of the second vehicle were rushed to the hospital in serious condition; their ages are not yet known.

Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision in downtown Buda Wednesday afternoon.

According to Hays County Sheriff’s office, the collision took place on the 2600 block of  Jack C Hays Trail around 4:30 p.m. Initial reports state one victim was declared dead at the scene; the victim is female and possibly a high school student.

Police have not released information or numbers of any other victims. More information to follow.

The letter from the School District on behalf of Hays High School Principal:

Dear Rebel Parents and Staff, 

I am emailing you today on behalf of Principal David Pierce. It is with great sadness that we share with you the death of one of our 10th-grade students, Brynn Aylor, who was killed in a car accident this afternoon on Jack C. Hays Trail. Brynn was a member of the Hays Rebel Softball Team and a precious part of our school district family.

Students and staff will react in different ways to the loss of one of our school community members, some more intense than others. Traumatic events like the loss of a friend or peer can trigger emotional responses that may require counseling support. Crisis counselors will be available to talk with students and staff members first thing in the morning.

Please keep Brynn’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
