TxDOT will be hosting an open house at Wallace Middle School Cafeteria located at 1302 W. Center Street in Kyle to allow residents to hear about the RM 150 alignment study from just west of Kyle to near I-35. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

The meeting will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation, so the public may come and go at their convenience. Staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, to be a part of the official record.

The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance safety and mobility through Hays County, relieve traffic in and around the city of Kyle by moving the state roadway out of downtown, and to provide an additional connection to I-35.

As Hays County, Kyle, and Buda continue to grow at a pace exceeding most Central Texas growth rates, RM 150 will bear a greater burden of increased traffic, resulting in worsened congestion under existing roadway design conditions.

In addition, congestion is exacerbated by the presence of an at-grade rail crossing of the Union Pacific rail line at RM 150 (locally referred to as Center Street) in downtown Kyle. For more information, view www.improve150.com.

Special Accommodations: TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call 512-832-7218 at least three working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding: The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
