Staff Reports
On Wednesday, June 12, the Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting at the San Marcos Activity Center regarding the East Hopkins Street Pedestrian and Bike Improvements Project.
The proposed improvements include a new 10’ shared use path, installation of two (2) pedestrian hybrid beacons, and operational improvements to Charles Austin Drive. The limits of the proposed improvements will extend from CM Allen Parkway to Thorpe lane, approximately 0.57 miles.
The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety and mobility in the project area. All proposed improvements will be located within existing TxDOT ROW or within City of San Marcos property, therefore, no additional ROW will be required for the proposed improvements.
The meeting will aim to share project information and obtain public input to be considered during the development of the project and will be held in an open house format. Visitors will be able to come and go at their own availability.
Persons interested in attending who require special accommodations, such as language interpreters, are encouraged to contact the City of San Marcos at 512-393-8130 at least three work days prior to the open house.
