TxDot to open Final Flyover at I-35 and US 183 Interchange

Project constructed and reconstructed four flyovers in Travis County

Staff Reports

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Transportation will open a new northbound US 183 to northbound I-35 flyover at the I-35 and US 183 interchange. To complete the work, crews will temporarily reduce lanes on northbound I-35 and northbound US 183 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for striping, weather permitting.

This is the final flyover to be built as a part of the I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East project. The project has added three new flyovers at the I-35/US 183 interchange and reconstructed the northbound I-35 to northbound US 183 flyover.

After opening the flyover, the remaining project activities include reconstructing various entrance and exit ramps along I-35 and US 183, widening the southbound I-35 bridge over US 290 East, installing high-mast illumination, reconstructing the northbound I-35 frontage road and driveways between US 290 East and US 183, and paving and striping the northbound and southbound I-35 main lanes.

This $124.2 million Texas Clear Lanes project began construction in 2018 and is anticipated to be completed in late 2021. For more information on this project and others under construction, visit My35Construction.org.
