TXST Soccer Player Signs Pro Contract With ZFK Spartak

SAN MARCOS, Texas – After an outstanding collegiate career, former Texas State soccer forward Kaylee Davis signed a professional contract with ZFK Spartak located in Subotica, Serbia. She is the first player in program history to play at the professional level.

“It’s been a crazy ride and a dream come true,” said Davis. “I hope this inspires and opens doors for future players to pursue a professional soccer career beyond Texas State!”

The Allen, Texas native joins the Subotica, Serbia based team that is the nine-time defending champions of the Women’s SuperLiga. The Blue Doves are coming off a 14-0-0 season and reached the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32 for the second straight year.

“We are thrilled to hear of Kaylee’s accomplishment in signing with ZFK Spartak! We will be following her career closely and know she will be an excellent asset to her new team,” said head coach Kat Conner. “Kaylee will have all the Bobcats cheering her on!”

In her three seasons in San Marcos, Davis netted 33 goals, 14 of which were match-winners, totaled 72 points and attempted 212 shots.

Her match-winning goal and goal totals both rank second in Texas State history while they are fourth and tied for 15th, respectively, in Sun Belt history. She also ranks in the top five on the school’s career list in points (3rd), shots (4th) and shots on goal (4th; 93).

“We are exceptionally proud and excited for Kaylee. She had a fantastic career at Texas State,” said player development coach Lorraine Quinn. “She helped the team win a championship and garnered numerous individual accolades as well.”

“Kaylee has earned this opportunity through her determination and work ethic. She has remained disciplined during uncertain times which only further highlights her drive. Kaylee will be a tremendous representative for Texas State Soccer in this professional endeavor. We look forward to following her professional playing career!”

All three seasons saw Davis earn All-Sun Belt First Team honors. She received the conference’s Newcomer of the Year award in 2017.

Following her Bobcat season record tying 18-goal campaign and leading the team to its first-ever Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship in 2018, she was picked as the league’s Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.

That year also saw her be selected as the Offensive Player of the Week for the conference four times.

Davis was selected as the Bobcats first-ever United Scholar All-America honoree with her selection to the third team as a junior.

Last year saw her be named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, selected to the Senior CLASS Award Candidate List and named to a United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast and Scholar All-West team for the second straight year.
