TXST University President honored with Austin Human Capital Award

SAN MARCOS – Texas State University President Denise M. Trauth has been honored by the Austin Chamber of Commerce with the Austin Human Capital Award.

The honor was awarded November 9 during the chamber’s annual State of Education program that provides the community with a report card on the status of education in the region.

Trauth was recognized for her extraordinary impact on Central Texas’ college readiness, enrollment and success. She was lauded for her leadership at Texas State in growing enrollment while improving the academic readiness of the entering class of students. Texas State has grown to more than 38,000 students and is an Emerging Research Institution.  

Previous recipients of the Austin Human Capital Award include Texas Commissioner of Higher Education Raymund Paredes, State Senator Florence Shapiro, U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and Bazaarvoice CEO Gene Austin.
