SAN MARCOS – Head Coach Karen Chisum and Texas State Volleyball announced the team’s 2016 schedule with highlight matches against Ohio State, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, Utah, Wichita State and more. The Bobcats will make tournament appearances at North Texas, Portland and UTSA along with the team’s own tournament and the Sun Belt Conference schedule.
“I’m excited about our accomplishments this spring and, no doubt, this fall’s schedule will prepare us for a run at the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Championship,” said Chisum. “We will see formidable opposition at all four of our preseason tournament.”

Texas State will open at the North Texas Tournament with matches against the Mean Green, Texas A&M, Ohio State and Nevada over opening weekend, August 26-27. After that, the Bobcats will host Baylor in the team’s home opener at Strahan Coliseum and will attempt to break the attendance record of 3,591.
The Bobcats will continue to play at home after that when Texas State hosts Tulsa, Kennesaw State and SFA in the Texas State Invitational over the weekend of September 2-3. Sam Houston State will visit Strahan Coliseum on Sept. 6 for a single match, and then the Bobcats will travel to Portland, Ore., to face Cal State Bakersfield, Utah and Portland over the weekend of September 9-10.
Texas State continues on the road with a match at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and the Roadrunner Round Up at UTSA which will feature Texas Tech, Wichita State and UTSA. The Bobcats will stay on the road to open up the conference season at Troy and South Alabama before returning home to host Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, defending SBC Champions Arkansas State and Little Rock.
The Bobcats will continue the team’s climb through the Sun Belt Conference the rest of the season before the SBC Championship Tournament in Arlington on November 18-20.
