U.S. 183 Road Construction, Closures You Need To Know About For February 16 – 25

• Road Construction Projects You Need To Know About •

 

  • Friday (2/16) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Technicenter Drive and 51st Street.

 

  • Friday (2/16) from 8 pm to 6 am, MLK Jr., Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction over US 183.

 

  • Sunday (2/18) from 6 pm to 6 am, the northbound US 183 frontage road will be reduced to one lane between Purple Sage Drive and Manor/Springdale Road. Manor/Springdale Road will be reduced to one lane under US 183 in both directions.

 

  • Monday through Saturday (2/19-24) from 7 am to 7 pm, Del Monte Road will be closed by one lane between Saxon Lane and Bonnett Street.

 

  • Monday (2/19) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between Vargas Road and Bolm Road.

 

  • Monday through Saturday (2/19-24) from 8 pm to 6 am, southbound Airport Blvd will be closed between Levander Loop and US 183. Also, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed over the Colorado River. Traffic will detour over 7th Street. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Monday through Wednesday (2/19-21) from 8 pm to 6 am, US 183 at SH 71 will be closed in both directions. All southbound traffic will detour by exiting for westbound SH 71, taking the u-turn at E. Riverside Drive, and heading eastbound on SH 71 to the US 183 southbound exit. All northbound traffic will detour by taking the eastbound SH 71 ramp, then exiting at Spirit of Texas Drive, taking the u-turn and heading back on westbound SH 71 to the exit to US 183 north. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Tuesday (2/20) from 9 am to 3 pm, the US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced by one lane between Manor/Springdale Road and US 290.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (2/21-22) from 8 pm to 6 am, Hergotz Lane will be closed east of US 183. All traffic will detour via Thompson Lane.

 

  • From Saturday, (2/24) at 7 am, until Sunday, (2/25) at 10 pm, Thompson Lane will be closed at US 183. Follow signed detour route.

 

• COMING SOON •

A phased reconstruction of the US 183 and Loyola Lane intersection began in September 2017 and will continue through late 2018, weather permitting.

The next phase of construction will begin in early February 2018 and will include a long-term closure of the Loyola Lane crossing over US 183, as well as other impacts, noted in the attached alert.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
