U.S. 183 Road Construction, Closures You Need To Know About For Friday, March 16 – 23

• Need To Know Road Construction Projects •

  • FRIDAY 3/16 from 8 pm – 8 am and SATURDAY 3/17 from 10 pm – 6 am | The southbound mainlanes of US 183 will be closed from Thompson Lane to E. Riverside Dr. In addition, the westbound SH 71 on ramp to the southbound mainlanes of US 183 will be closed. Traffic will detour to Riverside u-turn.

 

  • FRIDAY 3/16 from 9 pm – 10 am | The northbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Traffic will detour to Spirit of Texas turnaround and continue on westbound SH 71. 

 

  • FRIDAY & SATURDAY 3/16 & 3/17 from 8 pm – 6 am | TechniCenter Dr. will be closed at its intersection with southbound US 183. Business access will be maintained along TechniCenter Dr. from the west. Traffic will detour from MLK to Tannehill.

 

  • SATURDAY 3/17 12:01 am – 6 am & MONDAY 3/19, 8 pm – 6 am | The northbound mainlanes of US 183 will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Drive to Thompson Lane.

 

  • SUNDAY 3/18, 9 pm – 6 am | The northbound mainlanes of US 183 will be reduced to one lane from TechniCenter Drive to Loyola Lane.

 

  • SUNDAY 3/18, 9 pm – 6 am | The southbound mainlanes of US 183 will be closed from US 290 to Loyola Lane. All traffic will exit at Manor Rd, go through the Manor/Springdale intersection and re-enter mainlanes south of the pedestrian bridge.

 

  • SUNDAY 3/18 from 7 pm – 6 am | The northbound mainlanes of US 183 will be reduced to one lane between MLK Blvd and Loyola Ln.

 

  • SUNDAY 3/18 from 7 pm – 6 am | The US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from US 290 to Manor/Springdale Rd.

 

  • MONDAY – FRIDAY, 3/19 – 3/23 from 8pm-6am | The southbound mainlanes of US 183 will be closed from Thompson Ln to E Riverside Dr. In addition, the westbound SH 71 to Southbound US 183 ramp will be closed. Traffic will detour to the Riverside U-turn.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
