Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, and utility upgrades. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

• Need To Know Road Construction Projects •

  • CONTINUOUSLY between Tuesday (4/10) at 8 am through Friday (4/20) at 5 pm, Old Bastrop Highway will be closed at Carson Creek. Follow signed detour.

 

  • Friday (4/13) from 8 pm to 10 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be closed between Technicenter Drive and MLK Jr., Blvd. All traffic will exit MLK Jr., Blvd and travel through the intersection to take the entrance ramp for US 183 northbound.

 

  • Sunday (4/15) from 6 pm to 6 am and Monday (4/16) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced to one lane between 51st Street and US 290. Also, the eastbound US 290 flyover near Manor/Springdale Road will be closed. Exit Manor/Springdale Road and take the frontage road to the US 290 eastbound frontage road.

 

  • CONTINUOUSLY from Monday (4/16/2018) at 9 am to Monday (4/1/2019) at 5 pm, Smith Road, west of US 183, and Thurgood Avenue will be closed at the US 183 southbound mainlanes. Follow signed detours.

 

  • Monday (4/16) from 9 am to 3 pm, the US 183 southbound to northbound U-turn at Levander Loop will be closed. Follow the signed detour along Levander Loop.

 

  • Monday through Thursday (4/16-19) from 8 pm to 6 am, and Friday (4/20) from 8 pm to 10 am, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed under SH 71 between Thompson Lane and E. Riverside Drive. Also, the SH 71 westbound to US 183 southbound ramp will be closed. All traffic will detour to the U-turn at E. Riverside Drive and SH 71.

 

  • Monday and Tuesday (4/16-17) from 8 pm to 6 am, eastbound 1st, 5th, and 7th Streets will be closed at Montopolis Drive. Follow signed detour. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Monday (4/16) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced by one lane between Levander Loop and Bolm Road; the US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced by one lane between Bolm Road and Levander Loop.

 

  • Tuesday (4/17) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be reduced by one lane between Loyola Lane and MLK Jr., Blvd.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (4/18-19) from 8 pm to 6 am and Friday (4/20) from 8 pm to 10 am, the exit to Airport Boulevard, Cesar Chavez, 5th, and 7th Street from northbound US 183 will be closed. Follow signed detour.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (4/18-19) from 8 pm to 6 am and Friday (4/20) from 8 pm to 10 am, southbound Airport Blvd will be closed between Levander Loop and US 183. Also, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed over the Colorado River. Traffic will detour over 7th Street. Expect Delays. If heading to the airport in the late evening/early morning, please plan ahead.

 

  • Wednesday and Thursday (4/18-19) from 8 pm to 6 am and Friday (4/20) from 8 pm to 10 am, the US 183 southbound mainlanes will be closed from Thompson Lane to E. Riverside Dr. Traffic will detour to the U-turn at Riverside Drive.

 

  • Wednesday (4/18) from 8 pm to 6 am, the US 183 northbound mainlanes will be reduced by one lane between Bolm Road and MLK, Jr. Boulevard.

 

  • Friday (4/20) from 8 pm to 10 am, the northbound exit ramp to Manor/Springdale Road will be closed. Traffic will detour to the Cameron Road exit and take the U-turn to the southbound frontage road in order to access Manor/Springdale Road.

• UPCOMING •

Beginning as early as late April 2018 (subject to change), eastbound Montopolis Drive traffic will detour via a newly constructed section of roadway that will run alongside existing US 183. Crews will remove the existing Montopolis Drive bridge and construct a new and improved bridge over US 183. Further information is coming soon.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

According to their website, their mission is “to implement innovative, multi-modal transportation solutions that reduce congestion and create transportation choices that enhance quality of life and economic vitality.”

The Mobility Authority was created and operates under the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 370 and is authorized under state law to implement a wide range of transportation systems including roadways, airports, seaports and transit services.

The Mobility Authority is authorized to issue revenue bonds to fund projects and can utilize user fees and/or taxes to fund operations and repay bonds.
