Union Official: Trump to Tour Texas-Mexico Border

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate who has drawn fire for his inflammatory comments on illegal immigration, is making a trip to the Texas-Mexico border, a Border Patrol union official said late Tuesday.
Trump is visiting Laredo this week to tour the border, according to Sergio Moreno, secretary for National Border Patrol Council Local 2455. No other details about Trump’s trip were available late Tuesday.
The billionaire businessman has been the subject of intense criticism since his presidential announcement speech, when he characterized people in the country illegally as rapists and other kinds of criminals.
Local media first reported Trump was visiting Laredo in the coming days to see the border.
A spokeswoman for Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
