University Drive To Close For Utility Work

Starting Monday, Aug. 3, the City of San Marcos Engineering and Capital Improvements Department will close University Drive to conduct construction to replace an aged wastewater main from Moon Street to North LBJ Drive and along North LBJ Drive from University Drive to Concho Street.

Traffic will be detoured to Hutchison Street for the duration of the project. University buses will be permitted to use North Edward Gary Street for Texas State University campus access.

The work is expected to be complete by fall 2020, weather permitting.

Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to always use caution in and around construction zones.
