Unofficial election results announced in Buda

HAYS COUNTY – Polls closed at 7 p.m. on November 2 for the 2021 election, and the unofficial results have been posted. In Buda, all election tallies have been reported, and a run-off election for Position 3 At-Large will be heading to a run-off election on Dec. 7, 2021. 

Position 3 At Large

Unofficial election tallies with 47 of 47 reporting indicate LaVonia Horne-Williams leads Position 3 At Large with 49.11%, followed by Emily Jones with 33.87%, and Virginia Jurika with 17.01%. If official results show no candidate reaches 51%, a runoff election between the top two will be held Dec. 7, 2021.

Bond Proposition A

Proposition A – Transportation Projects:

Unofficial election tallies with 47 of 47 reporting indicate 74.31% “FOR” Proposition A and 25.69% “AGAINST.” The bonds would fund streets, roads, bridges, intersections and other street improvements.

Bond Proposition B

Proposition B – Parks Projects:

Unofficial election tallies with 47 of 47 reporting indicate 63.39% “FOR” Proposition B and 36.61% “AGAINST.” The bonds would fund various parks and recreation projects.

Propositions for Constitutional Amendments

On the statewide ballot, voters were to decide on propositions 1 through 7. These were a series of constitutional amendments, ranging from allowing professional sports teams’ charitable foundations to conduct charitable raffles at rodeo events to allowing changes in eligibility requirements for justices.
