UPDATE: Nueces County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Suspect In San Marcos Aggravated Assault Case

Jorge Enriquez

*The City of San Marcos originally stated the warrant had been issued in June for Enriquez for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, the warrant was actually issued in August.

Wanted suspect Jorge Enriquez (10/16/1985) was taken into custody at the Nueces County Courthouse Friday morning.

The San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) developed information that Enriquez had a scheduled court hearing Friday morning in Nueces County.

Contact was made with a member of the US Marshals Service (USMS) Task Force in Nueces County. USMS made immediate contact with Nueces County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) and NCSO took Jorge into custody for the SMPD warrant inside the courthouse.

In August, a warrant was issued for Enriquez for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for an incident that occurred in June in downtown San Marcos.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, Enriquez fled from officers attempting to issue the warrant, resulting in Hays County SWAT assistance in arresting the suspect at his residence on Bracewood Circle. Enriquez was not found in his residence at that time.
