San Marcos Police are searching for suspects in a stabbing that occurred downtown just after closing time for the bars and restaurants in the area on Friday, Oct. 26.

The victim suffered a laceration to his right forearm and a puncture stab wound to his lower right abdomen. Friends transported him to Central Texas Medical Center. From there, he was sent to Seton South Austin for emergency surgery.

According to witnesses, three men waited for the victim and his two friends outside Nephew’s bar and started an altercation with them at approximately 2:29 a.m. The victim and his friends disengaged from the suspects and walked to the victim’s vehicle, which was parked at the 100 block of W. San Antonio Street.

As the victim was unlocking his car, a gray, 2014 or newer, 4-door Hyundai passenger car with moonroof and spoiler drove up to him, and one of the suspects left the car and stabbed the victim.
