UPDATE: Tip leads to arrest of Aggravated Assault suspect

SAN MARCOS — On Friday, July 16, San Marcos Police arrested a suspect on an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Trine Pastrano (DOB 02/29/1972) was taken into custody at approximately 1:40 p.m. after a citizen saw him dining at a restaurant in San Marcos and called in a tip to law enforcement.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Division and the San Marcos Police Department Criminal Investigation Division coordinated at the scene after the tip was received. Pastrano was arrested without incident.

“We’d like to thank our community for their continued vigilance and the Hays County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this arrest,” said Chief Stan Standridge. “Their support was invaluable in locating this suspect and taking him peacefully into custody.”

Police began looking for Pastrano Sunday, July 11, following an assault at the Classic Inn, 921 North Interstate 35. He fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.

As of this release, Pastrano is awaiting processing at the Hays County Jail. A booking photo is not currently available.
