Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of San Marcos Walmart
A man is in police custody after a threat that forced an evacuation at Walmart at 1015 SH-80. John Wilsford (12-13-84) is accused of making the threat.
Officers were called to the store about 5:20 this morning after reports of a naked man unconscious in the store’s restroom. Once officers arrived they located Wilsford outside the store, fully clothed. He indicated he had a bomb in his backpack. The backpack was found just outside the store. Wilsford was immediately taken into custody and the store was evacuated around 5:30 a.m. Police indicate about 100 employees and shoppers were in the store at the time.

The San Marcos Police Department is working closely with the Austin Bomb Squad after evacuating Walmart at 1015 SH-80 due to a bomb threat.

The backpack was located inside the store. The man was immediately taken into custody and the store was evacuated around 5:30 a.m.
The store will remain closed while police investigate.
