VIDEO: SMPD Looking For Two Men Who Caused Estimated $300,000 In Damage Of Construction Site

The San Marcos Police Department is seeking the help of the community to identify two men, who “appear to have vandalized” a construction site on Guadalupe Street on Oct. 26.

The suspects caused an estimated $300,000 worth of damage breaking into a trailer on-site and discharging at least one fire extinguisher just before 1 AM.

According to police, the two individuals rummaged through drawers in the trailer and found the key to an excavator on-site; the suspects operated the excavator causing structural damage to steel frames and wood trusses being used to construct the building.

Officials said the excavator was damaged in the process, and the suspects left the machine running when they ran away from the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Travis Davidson at 512.753.2315 or Tdavidson@sanmarcostx.gov.
