SMTX Virtual Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest Call For Entries

The City of San Marcos is now accepting photo entries for the SummerFest Virtual Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest.

In an effort to continue the fun tradition for families, the annual contest will be administered through Facebook due to the in-person event cancellation caused by the spread of COVID-19.

Photos will be accepted until Friday, June 26. Voting will take place on the Community Services Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/smtxcs, from 8 AM on Wednesday, July 1 until 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 5.

This contest is sponsored by San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and the City of San Marcos (COSM).

By participating in the contest, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by the following rules and guidelines.

PRIZES
One winner will be selected. The winner will receive a prize pack including a pass to Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park, a SMTX logo beach towel, gift card and various other prizes to promote fun in the summer. Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

HOW TO ENTER
Photos can be submitted by emailing jmach@sanmarcostx.gov by June 26 at 5 PM. Photos will be posted in the SummerFest Children’s Patriotic Costume Contest album on the SMTX Community Services Facebook page on July 1 at 12 PM for online voting.

PHOTO RELEASE
By entering this contest, entrants permit the COSM to use the photos for City publications, promotions and any third-party media coverage as the department deems necessary unless the participant expressly files a written objection to the use of photos of themselves and/or their children.

WINNER SELECTION
The winner of the contest will be chosen based on which photo in the original Community Services Facebook post has the most likes.

WINNER NOTIFICATION
The winner will be notified by email on July 6. COSM is not responsible for any failed message attempts. Any winner notification not responded to or returned as undeliverable may result in prize forfeiture.

No purchase necessary to enter to win. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

SummerFest is sponsored by the City of San Marcos with assistance from the San Marcos Lions Club, San Marcos Convention and Visitor Bureau, and San Marcos Dodge Jeep Ram.

The City thanks Wonder World Cave and Adventure Park for the prize pack donation.

  • No. This is pathetic.

I'm sick of hearing them cry that they want to see their friends. I'm not going to keep reminding my kids about the things the City Council has dictated they cannot do.

    Uncork yourselves and OPEN UP.
