Walk To Cure Arthritis

Walk To Cure Arthritis

The Arthritis Foundation – Central Texas is pleased to announce that Seton Healthcare Family has partnered with the Walk to Cure Arthritis Austin as a presenting sponsor for the next three years.

“Seton Healthcare Family is proud to sponsor the Walk to Cure Arthritis Austin,” said Ashton Cumberbatch Jr. , J.D., executive director of The Seton Foundation and corporate chair of the event. “My wife and I became involved in the effort to cure arthritis and reduce its debilitating effects, not simply due to my work at Seton or from watching my grandmother suffer, but also because of my wife’s battle with rheumatoid arthritis and my fight with osteoarthritis. Supporting the work of the Arthritis Foundation is critical to finding a cure and helping those suffering with this disease.”

Arthritis is the nation’s most common cause of disability and more than 340,000 Central Texans experience daily pain, swelling and joint damage caused by the disease. That includes more than 2,300 children in Central Texas who suffer from juvenile arthritis. The Walk to Cure Arthritis Austin raises funds to find a cure for arthritis while educating the community about this invisible but serious disease and empowering those suffering from arthritis to remain active.

“The Arthritis Foundation is grateful for Seton’s support and participation in the Walk to Cure Arthritis Austin,” said Cathy McHorse, 2015 event chair. “Seton’s commitment will help Central Texans suffering from arthritis live full, healthy lives and fund critical research for better treatment options.”

The 2015 Walk to Cure Arthritis Austin is Saturday, April 25 at 8 a.m. at Concordia University. Teams are forming now! For more information and to register, visit www.walktocurearthritisaustin.org.
