San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District is making strides to engage its students in learning every day.

San Marcos CISD has nearly 8,000 students enrolled between its high school, two middle schools and six elementary schools according to the district’s website.

Here is a quick look at what SMCISD students and staff were up to the week of February 18 thru February 22.

Travis Elementary first grade students were all set for their final performance of ‘Barnyard Moosical’ on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The performance started at 6 PM.

Twenty-one “brave souls” have signed on as models for 2019’s GREEN Fashion show, according to the San Marcos Education Foundation. The models included six San Marcos CISD students as well as several teachers and members of the staff from all over the district.

The fashion show will take place at Harper Hill Ranch in Seguin, Texas, (12300 Huber Road, Seguin, Texas) at 3 PM on Saturday, February 23. Tickets purchased in advance are $12, and tickets at the door are $15.

Goodnight Middle School spread the love for all things literacy at the school’s ‘Literacy Love’ Family and Community Night.

And Miller Middle School celebrated Black History Month with a school-wide assembly that involved student performances, student artwork and poetry recited by Miller students on Feb. 20.

Crockett Elementary wrapped up their performances of Alice in Wonderland with a special showing to our very own Bonham Pre-K students! Great display of talent by our Crockett theatre students.

The district wished its San Marcos HS State Wrestling qualifiers “Good luck” as they participate in the UIL State Wrestling Competition this weekend.

Finally, San Marcos High School will hold its annual Black History Month celebration on Tuesday, February 26th. This event will feature music, food and a community choir. The celebration runs from 6 PM – 8 PM in the SMHS library. All in the community are welcome.
