Weekly Road Construction And Traffic Report For San Marcos

Projects affecting San Marcos traffic March 6 – 12, 2016
UPDATE: the Ed J.L. Green maintenance will be postponed for approximately one month and has been removed from this week’s report.
AQUARENA SPRINGS/THORPE/CHARLES AUSTIN: Aquarena Springs from Thorpe to Charles Austin will be reduced to one lane on each direction with partial sidewalk closures for construction project through end of March nightly. Charles Austin will be closed to through traffic at Aquarena Springs; City Park and the San Marcos Rec Hall can be accessed by turning from Hopkins. TxDOT, 512.619.4676.
BLANCO GARDENS: ADA
sidewalk ramp project in progress March 7 – 18 from 7a.m. – 5 p.m. daily, for the exception of weekends. Streets will be passable to all traffic. City of San Marcos Streets Dept., 512.393.8025
ALTA VISTA/LAUREL LANE: The intersection of Alta Vista and Laurel Lane will be closed for a skate race on March 13 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Detour signs and road closure signs will be available. Race will end at Ed JL Green. Texas Skate, 512.392.5858
YARRINGTON RD: Two inside south bound main lanes and one northbound lane will be closed in order to perform maintenance on the Yarrington Bridge March 6 – 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430
LONG TERM ROAD PROJECTS:
CENTERPOINT/TANGER PREMIUM OUTLET INTERSECTION:  The intersection will be under construction for a new traffic signalization project and is scheduled for completion Spring 2016. There will be alternating lane closures at the mall entrances during the day. Pedestrian movement may be altered due to ramp and sidewalk modifications. City of San Marcos Traffic Dept., 512.393.8034
HOLLAND/MOORE ST: Moore Street at Holland will be closed until May 23 to correct traffic flow issues and to make enhancements to the Holland Street entrance into the Speck garage; however, the east entrance into Speck Garage on Academy St. will remain open.
NORTH LBJ FROM CAMARO WAY TO CRADDOCK: This road will be open to two-way traffic, but the lanes will be shifted west to allow space for the City contractor to construct a new lift station on the corner of N. LBJ and Craddock. Project will last until summer 2016. Engineering/Capital Improvements, 512.393.8130
817 CHESTNUT ST: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through June 2. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469.236.0922
