Weekly Traffic Impacts For Your Commute Around San Marcos

The long & short term road construction projects that could affect your drive… Please use caution, drive slowly, and watch for heavy equipment, construction workers, and traffic control flaggers.

All traffic projects may be subject to delays or extensions due to weather and/or the current Public Health situation.

Street Maintenance

Traffic will have intermittent lane closure citywide for Crosswalk and School Zone striping for the Following Neighborhoods:

  • POST ROAD — Uhland Road to Mosscliff Circle from Dec. 1 to Dec. 30 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for sidewalk construction. For more information, contact the City of San Marcos Transportation Department at 512.393.8036

 

Special Weekly Closures

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: — Every Saturday — FARMERS MARKET

Every Saturday from 7:30 AM to 3 PM Half a block of the street closed from the Alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program 512.393.8430.

BISHOP STREET: — Dec. 16 — UTILITY INSTALLATION

Bishop Street between Progress Street and Belvin Street will close on Dec. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Utility Installation. For more information, call Public Services at 512.393.8036.

VICTORY GARDENS PROJECT — 11/25/20 to 12/31/20 — UNDERGROUND UTILITY INSTALLATION

The Victory Gardens Neighborhood will undergo a new underground utility installation with Impact to traffic on the following streets Georgia Street, Armstrong Street, Eisenhower Street, Camacho Street, McArthur Street, Virginia Street, and Churchill Street. The Closure will also affect Patton Street, Wavell Street, and Knox Street. Starting November 25- December 31, 2020, from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm – Darren – Cox Commercial Construction – 956.601.1645

HOPKINS STREET — 05/2020 to Spring 2022 — STREET RECONSTRUCTION

Hopkins Street between Bishop Street and Moore Street will be closed for a Street Reconstruction Project. Traffic will be detoured to Craddock at both ends of the project, with only local traffic allowed. Phase 1 street closure occurring between Johnson and Endicott. This phase is anticipated for completion in November. Phase 2 from Bishop to Johnson will begin in December. The overall completion of the project is anticipated by Spring 2022. HOPKINS STREET — 11/30/2020 to 12/31/2020 — SIDEWALK INSTALLATION

Charles Austin to Thorpe will have intermittent single lane closures starting November 30 – December 31, 2020, from 7:00 AM – 5:00 pm for the installation of sidewalks and driveways. Brad Bechtol – Mac Inc – 512.350.3767

HUNTER ROAD AT WONDERWORLD — 11/30/2020 to 01/29/2021 — INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
