UPDATED AUGUST 26: Who’s Filed First For San Marcos City Council?

The November Election is just around the corner. On Monday, July 20, the City of San Marcos began accepting applications for Places 3, 4 and 5 and Mayor.

Place 3 is held by Ed Mihalkanin. Place 4 is held by Mark Rockeymoore.

Place 5 is held by Jocabed “Joca” Marquez, who resigned on March 9 due to a job opportunity out of state. The candidate elected to this place will serve for the remainder of her term and seek re-election.

Mayor Jane Hughson announced her bid for re-election on social media; she has already submitted her campaign application as has Mihalkanin.

Councilmember Mark Rockeymoore released an announcement for his intention to run for re-election on Friday, August 14.
