Wimberley Attorney Announces Candidacy For Hays County PCT 3 Commissioner

WIMBERLEY- Air Force veteran and Hays County attorney Colin McFerrin has thrown his hat into the ring to replace outgoing Commissioner Will Conley’s Precinct 3 seat in Hays County.

When asked about his decision to run, his answers were simple.

“After much prayer and discussion with family members, I decided to run for Commissioner based upon two things. The first is to bring much needed change to benefit the families of Hays County. The second reason is our tax bills. Texas Comptroller data clearly demonstrates we have one of the highest debts per-capita in the state,” said McFerrin.

“This is not only unacceptable, but it is not sustainable. If I have to trim the budget twenty dollars at a time, I will. I offer my candidacy as a conservative choice for voters to end the tricks our county has been playing with effective tax rates,” said McFerrin.

McFerrin, a Texas A&M graduate and Air Force Veteran, attended law school at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and practices with the Law Firm of McFerrin and Zayed, PLLC, focusing on business and family law.

McFerrin and his wife Kristen, an accountant who is employed locally with R.P. Constructors, have three children, Matthew, a firefighter enlisted in the Air Force and currently stationed in Germany, Kaitlyn, who is studying to become a nurse, and Sean, a junior at Wimberley High School.

McFerrin is an active member of Wimberley First Baptist Church where he serves on the Committee on Committees and helps the youth ministries. He is also a board member of the Kyle Chamber of Commerce and a life member of the NRA.

McFerrin encourages voters and constituents to reach him any time of day on his cell phone, 512-364-2009, with any questions or concerns they may have.
