Wimberley Independent School District families, staff and community members came together to support flood relief efforts in Llano collecting a total of $7,091.
WISD administrators and students presented the donation to Llano Independent School District students during the varsity football matchup between the Wimberley Texans and the Llano Yellow Jackets.
“As soon as word came out about the flooding in Llano, there was an outpouring of support from our community and it has not slowed down,” said Dwain York, Wimberley ISD Superintendent of Schools. “This is a collective gesture of gratitude for the support the Llano community and school district bestowed upon us during the 2015 Wimberley Memorial Day Flood,” he added.
Local business, Ace Hardware, helped with the fundraiser collecting more than $2,000 for the Llano community flood relief efforts.
