Women Entrepreneurship Week To Feature Panels, Keynote Address

The day’s events include a keynote speech by Adriana Cruz, president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, panel discussions and a workshop.

Texas State University will observe the 2017 Women Entrepreneurship Week with a series of events on Thursday, October 19.

The day’s events include a keynote speech by Adriana Cruz, president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership, panel discussions and a workshop. All events will take place in the Undergraduate Academic Center, room 474.

Cruz will deliver the keynote address, titled “San Marcos – The Place to Start Your Business.” The panel discussions will cover women entrepreneurs in San Marcos, resources for entrepreneurs in San Marcos, financial resources and legal considerations. Mike Breck, Texas State Small Business Development Center business advisor, will lead the “Lean Startup Workshop.” Participants are required to preregister for the workshop by October 16 at ServiceLearning@txstate.edu.

The Women Entrepreneurship Week initiative was started by Montclair State University in New Jersey.

The event is sponsored by the Center for Diversity and Gender Studies, the Materials Science, Engineering, and Commercialization Program, the McCoy College of Business Administration and the Service-Learning Excellence Program.
