HAYS COUNTY – Road construction is scheduled to begin at the intersection of Fischer Store Road and RM 2325 in Wimberley on or about March 1, 2022. The project is set to install a dedicated deceleration lane/right turn lane on RM 2325 onto Fischer Store Road and a dedicated right turn lane/acceleration lane on Fischer Store Road onto RM 2325.
According to Hays County Commissioner Lon Shell, Pct. 3, the county has widened the right of way of Fischer Store Road to construct the new turn lanes at the intersection and will be doing culvert improvements.
“We’re happy to finally be moving forward with this project to improve safety at this intersection,” said Shell. “In addition to the new turn lanes, we’ll also be installing and upgrading the culverts at the intersection and along Fischer Store Road.”
The project is anticipated to be completed in summer of 2022, weather and other issues permitting.
The project, valued at $1,221,147.40, is being funded through the Hays County 2016 Road Bond Program. The Design Engineer and Construction, Engineering and Inspection (CEI) firm is Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc, and the Construction Contractor for the project is Cox Commercial Construction.
