The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the City of Austin Small Business Program, within the Economic Development Department, will host a free two-day entrepreneurial workshop called Boots to Business for veterans that have transitioned back to civilian life and their dependents.

The two-day training will be held from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Oct 3rd and 4th at the Entrepreneur Center of Austin, 4029 S. Capital of Texas Hwy, Suite 110.

“Veterans possess the qualities such as leadership, ingenuity and efficiency that are needed to succeed as small business owners and entrepreneurs,” said Anthony Ruiz, SBA San Antonio District Director.

“The classroom-based course provides participants an overview of business ownership, outlining the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private sector resources.”

Veterans of all eras, Service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and their dependents are eligible to enroll in classes.

Boots to Business is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program.

The Small Business Program is a division of the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department and is committed to providing opportunities and resources to small businesses to help them grow and prosper in a competitive business environment.
