San Marcos, TX – On April 14th, the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Central Texas Wing will host its 7th Annual Casino Night in the CAF hangar at San Marcos Regional Airport.
The fundraiser supports their mission of restoring and flying vintage military aircraft.
Join the Centex Wing at a fantastic setting of gaming tables surrounded by historic vintage aircraft, door prizes, silent auction, $20,000 in Casino money, and a chance to win a History Flight on the B-25 Yellow Rose.
Casino night will feature Blackjack, Roulette, Texas Hold ‘Em, Poker, Craps, and Slot Machines, and guests can also visit our historic museum, aviation library, or gift shop.
Food trucks will be on site with a variety of food for purchase, as well as a cash bar.
A highlight this year will be the opportunity to see and tour the C-47 That’s All, Brother, which was the lead C-47 dropping paratroopers in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
That’s All, Brother was found in a Wisconsin scrapyard in 2015. It was restored to its original configuration and to flying condition. The aircraft arrived at its new home at Central Texas Wing on March 6.
Currently, Central Texas Wing has six other aircraft calling their hanger home: T-6 Texas “Red Tail”, AT-6 Triple Nickel, a BT-13, B-25 Yellow Rose, C-45, U-3A Blue Canoe and P-39 Bell Airacobra “Miss Connie.”
Tickets are $30 each in advance ($35 at the door) and available online at the wing’s website, www.centraltexaswing.org, or by contacting Phil Bonasera at (512) 781-9284. Only 350 tickets will be sold.
