Zumper Monthly Rental Price Report: San Marcos has cheapest rent in region

The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in June 2021 across 6 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas one-bedroom median rent was $979 last month.

The Most Expensive

Austin was the most expensive city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,240.

Cedar Park ranked as the second priciest with rent at $1,160.

Georgetown followed closely behind as third with rent at $1,130.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $890.

Pflugerville was second with rent at $1,100.

Round Rock saw rent grow 0.9% to $1,110 and rank as third.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Round Rock had the fastest growing rent, up 6.7% since this time last year.

Pflugerville was second with rent climbing 4.8%.

Cedar Park ranked as third with rent increasing 3.6%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Austin had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 5.1%.

Georgetown was second with rent climbing 4.6% last month.

Pflugerville ranked as third with rent increasing 2.8%.
