Zumper Report: San Marcos has “most affordable” rent in region

The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings last month across 6 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents.

The Texas one-bedroom median rent was $1,116 last month.

The Most Expensive

Austin was the most expensive city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,560.

Georgetown was the next priciest with rent at $1,540.

Cedar Park & Pflugerville tied for third with rents both at to $1,430.

The Least Expensive

San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,050.

Round Rock was second with rent at $1,410.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)

Georgetown had the fastest growing rent, up 35.1% since this time last year.

Pflugerville was second with rent climbing 34.9%.

Round Rock ranked third with rent increasing 33%.

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)

Georgetown had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 4.8%.

The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings that hit the market last month. Listings are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
