183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of April 5

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 3/30/21 to 4/8/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Tuesday (3/30) 9 a.m. until Thursday (4/8) 3 p.m., US 183 southbound on-ramp right lane at Vargas will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/4/21 to 4/5/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Sunday (4/4) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound general purpose will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis Dr. to Patton Ave.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/11/21 — PAVING
Monday (4/5) 8 a.m. until Sunday (4/11) 6 p.m., Techni Center eastbound will be closed. Detour via Central Ave.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/7/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Tuesday (4/5-4/6) 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the northbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport will be closed. Detour via westbound SH 71 cloverleaf to E. Riverside U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/9/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (4/5-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71 and U-turn at Riverside Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/10/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Friday (4/5-4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., SH 71 eastbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane between E. Riverside Dr. to Brandt Dr.

Monday-Tuesday (4/5-4/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., westbound Bolm Rd. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Smith Rd.

Monday-Thursday (4/5-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 to westbound SH 71 ramp will be closed. Detour via Spirit of Texas U-turn.

Monday-Wednesday (4/5-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane between Hudson St. and Vargas and the exit ramp to Montopolis Dr. will be closed.

Monday-Wednesday (4/5-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound frontage road reduced to one lane Montopolis to Interchange Blvd.

Monday-Tuesday (4/5-4/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., MLK Blvd. in both directions will be reduced to one lane at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/5/21 to 4/8/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Wednesday (4/5-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound exit to Airport Blvd. will be reduced to one lane from Montopolis to Levander Loop.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/6/21 to 4/8/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Tuesday-Wednesday (4/6-4/7) 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the eastbound SH 71 frontage road entry ramp to eastbound SH 71 mainlanes east of E. Riverside Dr. will be closed and the general-purpose will be reduced to one lane between E. Riverside Dr. to US 183. Detour to southbound US 183 then use the U-turn at Metropolis Dr.

Tuesday-Wednesday (4/6-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Montopolis in both directions will be closed at US 183. Detour via Vargas.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/6/21 to 4/8/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (4/6-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Saxon Ln, and Vargas Rd. will be closed at US 183. Detour via Montopolis to Del Monte or Ponca St.

Tuesday-Wednesday (4/6-4/7) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Thompson Lane will be closed at US 183. Detour via Dalton.

Wednesday-Thursday (4/7-4/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northeast Toll direct-connect ramp will be closed at SH 71. Detour to SH 71 eastbound mainlane to the east to north cloverleaf.

Thursday-Friday (4/8-4/9) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Access to Levander Loop, US 183 northbound will be closed. Detour via Airport Blvd to US 183 south to Montopolis Dr. U-turn to US 183 north.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/9/21 to 4/11/21 — DRAINAGE WORK
Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. until Sunday (4/11) 5 p.m., US 183 northbound mainlane right two lanes will be closed from Thompson to Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/9/21 to 4/11/21 — PAVING
Friday (4/9) 8 p.m. until Sunday (4/11) 5 p.m., Manor Springdale left lane in both directions at US 183 and general-purpose center lane will be closed from Dubuque to Manor Rd.
