The City’s Neighborhood Enhancement Department, as well as Keep San Marcos Beautiful and the Habitat Conservation Plan, reports that almost 200 volunteers picked up trash and recyclable material during the weekend of October 2 – 4 for the Fall River Cleanup.
This year’s cleanup was held over several days during the weekend to provide for COVID-19 social distancing and allowed volunteers to sign up for specific areas to clean.
An estimated 2,355 pounds of trash, 565 pounds of recycling, and 8 tires were collected. These weights are based on materials dropped off by volunteers on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The organizers wish to thank event sponsors: 72° Festival and Gumby’s Pizza.
