AGE of Central Texas will host the inaugural LGBTQ+ Caregiver Conference on Saturday, June 11. Part of the on-going conference series to help family members effectively care for an older adult, the free event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to Noon at the Atria at the Arboretum, located at 9306 Great Hills Trail in Austin.
The morning will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration, light breakfast, and a curated Resource & Information Fair. At 9:00 a.m., AGE of Central Texas will discuss “How to Be an Affective Caregiver.” At 10:00 a.m., a panel discussion featuring local health care and senior industry professionals will discuss “How to Find Affirming Resources.”
The conference will conclude at 11:00 a.m. with local LGBTQ+ caregivers in a round-table conversation sharing their wisdom, experiences, and advice.
