San Marcos, Texas – The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), the regional economic development organization for Hays and Caldwell counties will host the Greater San Marcos Education Summit 2019 on November 19.
The event will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Embassy Suites City of San Marcos Hotel and Conference Center (1001 E. McCarty Lane, San Marcos, TX 78666).
The event will highlight the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that are helping to fill the workforce gaps across the two-county region – in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor.
“The school districts in our region represent the most critical training ground for our future workforce,” said Adriana Cruz, President of the Greater San Marcos Partnership. “The strategic partnerships secured by our school districts help ensure that our students are well prepared for the demands and opportunities in tomorrow’s job market.”
The Education Summit will feature a keynote address by Susan Dawson, President and Executive Director of E3 Alliance. The organization has been recognized across the country for its ground-breaking work in systematic change for education.
In addition, a panel of superintendents including Michael Cardona from San Marcos CISD, Dr. Eric Wright from Hays CISD, Mark Estrada from Lockhart ISD, Nola Wellman from Dripping Springs ISD, and Erin Warren from Luling ISD will share insights on the challenges, progress, and partnerships involved in preparing students for a multitude of career paths that will ultimately represent our region’s workforce capabilities.
