BREAKING: Hays CISD Superintendent Resigns Late Tuesday Afternoon

At 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 09, 2017, Hays CISD Superintendent Michael McKie informed his executive staff that he intends to resign his position at the end of this school year.

Because the Board has not yet met to deliberate about the pending resignation and related agreement, nor has it taken any action; he was not able to provide additional information at this time.

Following Friday’s meeting, Superintendent McKie and Board President Holly Raymond will issue a joint statement to employees, parents, and the media.

Superintendent McKie was hired as the Hays CISD superintendent of schools on May 23, 2013. He started serving the district on May 28, 2013. His current contract runs through June 30, 2019.
