Wimberley Area – Burglary Arrests July 20, 2016 – 7:00 a.m.
During the months of May and June 2016, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigated multiple residential and commercial burglaries and thefts in the Wimberley area. During these crimes, jewelry, power tools, and vehicles were stolen. As a result, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office initiated an extensive investigation in an attempt to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Detectives developed enough evidence to charge a number of suspects and to obtain search warrants for residences and vehicles associated with the investigation. On July 13, the investigation culminated in a search warrant execution at a residence on Mt. Sharp Road. Entry was made to the home by members of Hays County SWAT team. Additional evidence related to the investigation was seized by detectives for processing and identification.
The suspects, who are all Wimberley residents were identified as:
Julius Chambers, White/Male, Date of Birth: 07-16-1988 Joseph Robuck, White/Male, Date of Birth: 02-13-1978 Mason Berning, White/Male, Date of Birth: 06-29-1993 Darbee Wesson, White/Female, Date of Birth: 08-24-1996
Charges ranged from theft, unlawful possession of a firearm, prohibited weapon, and possession of control substance.
It should be noted that this successful investigation is the result of a continued cooperative effort between local residents and neighbors who were instrumental in solving these crimes. Accurate reporting, detailed observations and neighborhood awareness directly contributed to these arrests.
