Chief Executive Magazine today announced Texas as the “Best State For Business” for 2018. Chief Executive Magazine’s annual rankings are determined by surveying hundreds of leading CEOs from across the United States. This is the 14th year in a row Texas has been named best state for business.
“It is no accident that the nation’s top CEOs continue to rank Texas as the best state for business,” said Governor Abbott. “Innovation and ingenuity are thriving in the Lone Star State, and as a result, businesses are relocating and expanding their footprint in Texas, further strengthening our economy. I am proud that Texas has once again received this recognition and solidified its standing as the best state in the country in which to do business.”
Since Governor Abbott took office, more than 600,000 new jobs have been created and Texas set a new record for the lowest unemployment rate in four decades.
This year’s rankings highlight Texas’ high quality workforce and superior living environment. The report shows Texas’ leading industries as advanced manufacturing, aviation, biotech, chemicals products and energy.
The rankings also note Texas’ low tax and low regulation business-friendly environment that has led to the relocation or expansion of many major companies, such as Kubota, NTT DATA, Charles Schwab and Brakebush Brothers.
