City Of Austin Introduces New Online Business Education Classes For Small Business Owners

A result of direct feedback from local small business owners, Small Business Accounting and Human Resource Basics will now be featured online.

AUSTIN, Texas – The City of Austin’s Small Business Program in partnership with the University of Texas Center for Professional Education (UT CPE) is introducing two new online business education classes for small business owners.

As result of direct feedback from local small business owners, Small Business Accounting and Human Resource Basics will now be featured online. Registration for the classes can be found on the Small Business Program’s calendar, http://www.austintexas.gov/smallbiz.

“Small business owners asked for it, and we listened,” says Joy Miller, Marketing and Outreach Manager for the Small Business Program. “We are thrilled to be able to deliver quality online classes that will be accessible 24/7 from the comfort of home, and will allow business owners to learn new skills and become better business people.”

The new classes are specifically designed to provide small business owners a convenient, easily accessible business education experience. Taught by experienced UT CPE instructors, the classes will provide students with the framework to ensure their business not only survives, but also thrives.

Both classes count toward the six-class requirement for a Business Skills Certificate from the City of Austin and UT CPE. Students will have access to the classes for a three week time period and will receive downloadable handouts to complete the full class experience.

Registration fees are associated with each class and can be found on the Small Business Program website, www.SmallBizAustin.org.

The Small Business Program is a division of the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department and is committed to providing opportunities and resources to small businesses to help them grow and prosper in a competitive business environment.
