Serial Entrepreneur Gives Free Talk On Concept And New Business Development

Fromage to You Co-Founder to be Featured Speaker for GSMP & Chamber’s BIZtalks on August 16

San Marcos, Tex. – It’s a tale as old as time – someone wants to start a business but it’s unclear where to begin. On August 16th, BIZtalks, Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) and San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s free series for area businesses and prospective entrepreneurs, will aim to clear up some of those questions.

Serial entrepreneur Jackson Dyre-Borowicz, most recently known as the co-founder of artisanal cheese board delivery service Fromage To You, will offer examples of first steps to take when launching a business.

BizTalks: Finding Your Concept will take place on August 16th at the LBJ Museum from 4 pm to 5 pm with a networking hour immediately following. For planning purposes, guests are asked to RSVP to http://conta.cc/2hodK9L.

The program expects to answer many questions, including:

  • How do you define a need to fill through starting a business – what’s your niche?
  • Once you identify a concept that is likely to be successful, what happens next?
  • What are important things to know about a business plan before going after funding?
  • Where do you go to find partners and how do you tap your network?

The audience will also be invited to ask questions during and after the program.

“Launching a new venture in any industry is no easy task but I hope that by sharing some of my experiences at BIZtalks, attendees will walk away with one or two useful next steps they can put into action,” said Dyre-Borowicz. “I know the calling to start a business and the frustration and the rewards that can come along with the process.”

A Central Texas native, Dyre-Borowicz has been involved in the area’s startup and innovation ecosystem for over 10 years. He discovered his love for entrepreneurship while working as a healthcare IT consultant.

Since leaving the corporate consulting world, he has launched four companies in the technology and food & beverage industries, including one successful exit. In his free time, Jackson enjoys photography and outdoor adventures.

He is also an active advocate of student entrepreneurship education and is involved with many programs such as Three-Day Startup. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from The University of Texas at Austin.

BIZtalks is a free event that is open to the public. The program will begin at 4 pm and will include a question and answer period with Dyre-Borowicz. Immediately following the program will be a networking reception provided by GSMP and the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce.
