City Of Buda Announces San Antonio Street and Garison Road Construction

On June 21, 2018, construction will begin on the San Antonio Street and Garison Road project.

In November 2014, the citizens of Buda approved the road improvement project as part of an overall bond to address municipal facilities, streets, drainage, and parks and trails.

The San Antonio Street and Garison Road Improvement project will focus on intersection safety improvements by separating San Antonio Street and Garison Road turning movements.

San Antonio Street will be reconstructed from San Marcos Street to Main Street. The project will improve access to City Park and address safety concerns at the San Antonio Street and Garison Road intersection.

Other improvements include the widening of existing pavement to enhance parking at City Park and aesthetic enhancements.

Cox Commercial Construction will complete the project in four phases. Throughout the project, Cox Commercial Construction and the City of Buda will maintain access to side streets and homes. Detour signs will be put in place during the construction.

Phase 1 — Garison Road and Intersection
Anticipated Schedule: June 26 — August 8
San Antonio Street and Garison Road intersection will be closed during this time. Detour signs will be in place.

Phase 2 — South Side of San Antonio Street
Anticipated Schedule:  August 9 — October 1

Throughout the project, Cox Construction and the City of Buda will maintain access to side streets and homes. Detour signs will be put in place.

Phase 3 — North Side of San Antonio Street
Anticipated Schedule: October 2 — November 6
Throughout the project, Cox Construction and the City of Buda will maintain access to side streets and homes. Detour signs will be put in place.

Phase 4 — Final Paving  
Anticipated Schedule — November 7 — November 13
