City Sponsors Spring Rain Barrel Sale

“These rain barrels are perfect for those that want to collect rain water or ac condensate for flower beds or potted plants,” said Jan Klein, Conservation Coordinator.

The City of San Marcos is partnering with PolyMart to offer affordable rain barrels and tanks to San Marcos area residents.

The 50-gallon SpringSaver Rain Barrel is $64.99 and has a flat back for placement against walls.  The 54-gallon RainSaver is $84.99 and comes with a solid brass spigot and 6-foot overflow hose.

The Polymart rainwater tanks come in 100, 150, 250, and 5500-gallonsizes.  Downspout diverter kits are also available for purchase.

All of the barrels and tanks are made in the USA and are easy to set up.  They are available in a variety of colors to complement your home.

“These rain barrels are perfect for those that want to collect rain water or ac condensate for flower beds or potted plants,” said Jan Klein, Conservation Coordinator.  “The tanks are great for watering trees and gardens.”

City of San Marcos water utility customers are eligible for a $0.50 per gallon rebate on rain barrels and tanks.  You do not have to be a San Marcos resident to purchase these barrels, but the rebate is available only to City water customers.

Here’s how it works:

  2. Pick up your barrels at the San Marcos City Hall Complex, 630 E. Hopkins, on Earth Day, Saturday April 22 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
