Community Ideas, Vision Being Sought For San Marcos’ New Parks Master Plan

The City of San Marcos has announced their decision to hold a series of public meetings in August and September seeking ideas and vision from residents to help guide the future of area parks.

The meeting dates and locations are:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Goodnight Middle School, 1301 SH 123

 

  • Thursday, Aug. 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 130 W. Holland

 

  • Thursday, Sept. 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Westover Baptist Church, 1310 Advance Street

 

  • Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 W. MLK Dr.

The Master Plan was established in 2010 and is in the process of being updated. The plan establishes a community vision and identifies goals and strategies to help the City actively maintain high standards for parks, recreation, and open space in San Marcos.

Based on community input and the recommendations of the Master Plan, the City will establish priorities and budget decisions for projects related to parks, recreation facilities and open spaces in the community.
