DPS Director McCraw Releases Statement About Veterans Day

“…And let us never forget that these patriots willingly and bravely embraced the many sacrifices that come with such noble service…” DPS Director Steven McCraw said.

AUSTIN – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw issued the following statement regarding Veterans Day:

“Let us all take a moment on Veterans Day to thank a veteran for their service. Let us remember the scores of courageous men and women who have served in the United States Military both home and abroad to protect against threats to our liberty and our way of life throughout our nation’s history. And let us never forget that these patriots willingly and bravely embraced the many sacrifices that come with such noble service.

Because of their commitment to duty, Americans and countless others around the world have been afforded precious freedoms and safety – and for this, our military members will always be revered as heroes.

We are extremely proud of the many veterans who have honored the Texas Department of Public Safety by joining our ranks, and in doing so, have shared their expertise and experience, making DPS all the better for it. They answered the call to serve not once, but twice, and their impact on the department and the entire state of Texas cannot be overstated.

We also must thank the family members and loved ones of every Soldier, Sailor, Guardsman, Airman and Marine who have shared in the sacrifices necessary to protect and serve our country. Each of these families played a vital and special role in supporting our military men and women as they held firm against enemies and dangers all around the globe throughout our history.

To all U.S. Military Veterans: thank you for your selfless service, for your bravery and for your sacrifice. We will forever cherish all you have done for us and our great nation.”
