Google Donates $150,000 To Central Texas Flood Relief Projects

Austin American Statesman – Google announced Wednesday its commitment to donate $150,000 to Central Texas flood relief projects.

The press release says $150,00 is a half of a $300,000 commitment to disaster recovery and relief efforts in both Texas and Oklahoma. The money comes from grants via Google.org and employee donations.

“In both Texas and Oklahoma we’re devastated by the destruction but are inspired—and proud of—the courage of the first-responders and neighbors who have been braving the weather to support our communities,” a release on Google.org’s homepage read.

“We hope these funds will help to ease the suffering of so many and to accelerate the rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the floods.”
