GSMP President Jason Giulietti named among the Top 50 Economic Developers of 2022 in North America

Staff Reports

SAN MARCOS – Consultant Connect, a consulting agency designed to bridge the gap between economic developers and site consultants, announced Jason Giulietti, president of the Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP), as one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers of 2022.

GSMP leads regional economic development for the Texas Innovation Corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Through a comprehensive multi-year economic development strategic plan, Giulietti leads the organization’s strategy to diversify and strengthen the Corridor’s economy with high-quality jobs and new investments.

Giulietti has more than 15 years of leadership experience in economic development and marketing at the state and regional levels. Since he became president of Greater San Marcos Partnership in 2020, the organization has facilitated 25 projects, resulting in more than 3,000 new jobs and more than $1.5 billion in new capital investment. He and his team continue to develop a robust project pipeline of $73 billion in new investment potential for the Corridor while promoting the region’s assets and advantages for doing business.

“Economic development is a team sport,” said Giulietti. “GSMP’s world-class staff, our board of directors, and our highly engaged public and private sector investors have helped provide the incredible success our region is seeing. The Texas Innovation Corridor is unquestionably the best place in the country to be doing business. I am humbled to be in such great company from across the country.”

Site consultants and colleagues in the economic development industry were nominated and selected for the Consultant Connect North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers of 2022 for their excellent practices, innovations, and successes in building the communities they serve. This annual list of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers acknowledges top leaders in this field and elevates the conversation around economic development and job creation.

“Releasing the Top 50 list is one of Consultant Connect’s favorite times of the year because we are so passionate about recognizing economic development leaders’ transformative work,” said Carla Sones, managing director of Consultant Connect. “This year’s group faced hurdles unlike any other Top 50 group has seen over the past year. We are honored to provide a platform for them to be recognized for the passionate commitment they’ve made to their communities.”

Each Top 50 Economic Developer will be featured individually starting May 9 across Consultant Connect’s selected social media channels of InstagramLinkedIn and Twitter, where each award recipient will have the opportunity to share industry knowledge, leadership insights and career wisdom with fellow industry professionals. Consultant Connect strives to lift up the economic development industry by recognizing remarkable economic developers. Recipients will be presented their award at Consultant Connect’s ECONOMIX event in Columbus, OH this December.
